1. Mikhail Tal(1936-1992)
YOU CAN'T START THIS LIST WITHOUT THIS NAME.
When thinking of attacking players, there is one name that first comes to mind for most of us, and that is 'The Magician From Riga' Mikhail Tal. The Magician from Riga had a short reign as world champion(won only one championship-1960) and was plagued by poor health, but his play is synonymous with brilliant attacking play and a sacrificial style. That has made him into one of the greatest fan favorites in the history of chess. Not undeservedly so, as Tal was an amazing player in every regard. During his peak years of 1958 - 1961, no one in the world could touch him.
“You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” MIKHAIL TAL
